Rick Dhaliwal stops by with more on free-agent defencemen Carson Soucy and Ian Cole, as well as tidbits on a potential Tyler Myers trade, and free-agent check-ins on J.T. Compher, Ryan O’Reilly, Nick Bjugstad and Teddy Blueger. Rick tells us that goalie David Rittich might well land with the Canucks, and why defenceman Cal Foote will not be joining his father Adam, a Canucks assistant, in Vancouver.

  1. One of the benefits of an experienced management and coaching group that has worked together before is that they’ve worked with a lot of different people. They know where the low cost options are. I’m not into heaping too much praise on a group that gave a 30 year old on the decline with horrible defensive instincts a huge 7 year deal, but I guess it could be an advantage. We’ll see. If they overpay for these UFAs, we’re right back to square one.

  2. Ian Cole is 34 years old, what are we gonna sign him till he’s 37? No thanks, too old

  3. Hopefully they can get myers traded to free up some cap…
    Hughes-Schenn/Gudas
    Graves/Hronek
    Soucy/Foote

Like the bjugstad as a penalty killing 3c….

  4. Cole reminds me of Hunt they get but slow Defense Declined Cole you never going to get younger on the Blueline getting old players worsed then oel wasted of cap Dollars
