I am just wondering where some people’s stance is coming from on trading Zad Daddy. He has had his 2 highest point totals with us and has been a positive double digit +/- player. He jumps in the rush and is not scared to drive the net. For 6’6 and 248 lbs he skates very well. He is not afraid to lay some big hits, and though he does not do it often he will drop the gloves. (Cause who wants to fight a russian tank)
Also he has said he wants to stay in Calgary which is huge for us. Especially with this mass exodus.

I thought there was an insider who said Zadorov also wanted out?
As far as I can tell it originated from Toronto media (shocker). Saw a Pagnotta tweet saying “The leafs have inquired about Zadorov and Hanifin”. I’m assuming it’s spread from Conroy listening to an offer for Z, to now people saying we’re shopping him.
I wouldn’t assume anyone on our roster is currently untouchable or guaranteed back, but it wouldn’t shock me to see Zadorov sticking around for a while longer.
Hopefully we keep him. he’s actually got a wicked accurate shot when he drives the net
It’s really sad that there were only two vets that said right away that they wanted to stay, now one’s gone and the other is on the trade block apparently
I love Zad. Don’t want to see him go, but can’t see why you wouldn’t play out this year before extending him.
There is a big difference between teams inquiring about a player to the flames shopping him. I suspect this is more about it blowing up in the rumour media than anything else. Z is on a decent contract, is the right age, knows the coach that’s coming in and has publicly stated he wants to stay.
Take a deep breath everyone.
I’d be fine trading him since he’s usually good but does have some very costly mistakes at times. I’m not really opposed to trading him or keeping him. Whatever makes trades happen and the cap work
If they trade Zad I’m canceling my season tickets.
