Why do the Penguins never draft size or grit? They would have been better drafting Matthew Wood or Colby Barlow.
Yaromir Yager
I wanted to get my own perspective before hearing anyone elses. Seems like a lot of people are in agreement that if he works his explosiveness, fills out more, and transitions more back to a goal scorer then I think he has a higher ceiling than first glance.
Will Dubas replace Pryor with someone of his choosing?
DK, as a lifelong hockey fan, I've never been very interested in the NHL draft, simply because there is often little chance any picks will make an impact in the short term. Whereas in the NFL, for example, a team can change itself with one good draft. I know the NHL skews younger, and players hit their prime younger than other pro leagues. Forgive my ignorance, but why draft these guys so young and undeveloped? Wouldn't giving them another year or two to mature give all parties (teams, players, agents, trainers etc) a better chance for success, and make the player potentially more impactful upon arrival to their team? Is it because leagues like the NFL don't have "farm systems" like the NHL does?
Hey DK a have a j1q for you what do you think about adding john gibson to this team do you think he could be that number 1 goaltender the pengunis need
The only other draft that is so unpredictable as far as talent reaching the big leagues is baseball. You can have a first rounder that never makes it and you can sign an undrafted guy that turns into a Reilly smith.
Yager seems like great kid good 200 foot player.Sidney his hero Sidney called him on phone 📱 Dejan that's is so cool Sid is class
Dejan thank you for insight this is true.
Hey DK,
When you use clips from recorded interviews in external environments (locker rooms, pressers, etc.), I often have trouble understanding what is being said. The interview you included in this Daily Shot was particularly hard to follow — even Youtube's closed captioning couldn't keep up. I know you'd LOVE to have more work to do, and I don't know what audio tools are available or could be of use, but any process you can employ to help bring clarity to your interview clips could be a boon for your content.
Love following Daily Shots of Pens and Steelers — thanks for all your work!
