Players flock to the big apple because they think that’s where the party is, without realizing NJ has those same benefits without the dog shit media and management group that forces hands when they want things their way.

Every interview Fitz does shows me that he either is just naturally charismatic or has a great PR department helping him come up with the most quotable statements. His whole “I bet on New Jersey” bit from yesterday’s media call could fuel the Devils marketing department for all of next season.
His sincerity is really strong in his interviews too. There’s just this genuine nature in how he talks that let’s you know he’s a straight shooter and isn’t trying to bs anybody. I think he gets a ton of respect for that and how much of a good person he is as seen by what he does for his players (both current and outgoing) and even from today when he made a trade with the Preds to give his old GM and coach a special moment to end David Poile’s career on.

‘…not to mention a pretty good team.’ Love Fitzy. He’s worked wonders for us but he’s also a fair negotiator and brought in a lot of guys who want to be Devils, who want to be here.
