Thoughts on our 2023 draft class?
Below is the full list of the Coyotes 2023 @NHL Draft picks.

Other than desperately needing a top center next year, was a solid draft.
Feel much better today about our first two picks after finding out Michkov wouldnt have signed with us, and that the 2 guys we took are rated much higher internally than most public draft boards.
We certainly wont be a small team in 3 years either, which is great. Goalie pipeline is full, and Prosvetov is likely gone this year or next (fine by me).
Also addressed some of our defensive needs, which is good.
Also holy shit, his reaction to us taking his teammate was wholesome af
Absolute giants.
But for real, I think the scouting staff and GMBA did a really nice job. I’m obsessed with the Hrabal pick. Not only does he posses a unique blend of size and athleticism, but he sounds like an incredibly intelligent and grounded kid who responds well to being challenged by his coaches. I’ve been doing quite a bit of digging on him and have come across nothing but glowing assessments.
I think the Suns might need Hrabel to play power forward for them next year. Jokes aside, these kids are huge. Bill clearly has a type.
My thoughts are: Bill Armstrong knows what he’s doing
The small-ball Yotes have arrived
Like it. Like it a lot!! Definitely some diamonds in this list. Like the fact that only on guy under 6’2″. Can’t wait to see this group 3 yrs from now.
What surprised me was the lack of trades. 13 draft picks this year sounds like a golden opportunity to do some trade market shopping like the Durzi deal. But as I thought about it, I see the approach. This is considered a deep draft class, make the selections, wait for them to show their skills, and then use some that may not have a future with the team as trade chips.
That’s a lot of mfers
Everyone is huge. Was really hoping they’d take Lipinski. Seems to fit the mold of having size, seems to have produced well in the WHL and is a Phoenix local. They could’ve even picked him in the 4th instead of a kid who hasn’t cracked double digit points yet.
