    I had high hopes for Graves. Thank god we have big Bahls.

    Really gonna miss Graves. He was quietly one of our best Dmen. Hopefully the growing pains for Hughes and Nemec are bad because we don’t have much D depth.

    Now the questions is was this a Devils’ decision or a players decision. Is Fitz leaving cap room in case he makes a goalie move?

    There’s enough money to sign either one of Tatar or Graves, but not if you need to pay a top goalie after moving Vitek.

    Graves gonna get paid in a weaker UFA year. Good for him. He was underrated imo

    We’ll need someone to replace him I think. That’s a big responsibility for Luke to fill. Like a $3-4 million guy, just in case. Like a Graves but younger. :/

    i’m moving this week and way too high right now but can someone list what ufa’s are leaving and what prospects we have to fill their role?

    Graves was really not good at the end. Probably a lot to do with injuries. Us staying away from him on a long term deal is very smart.

    Wood being gone shouldn’t come as a shock, but it’s still wild that his time with the team is over.

    I really thought he would be a solid 20 goal-scoring power forward, but his hip injury definitely brought him down a substantial amount. Hope he finds his game elsewhere.

    Lol I just got my heritage jersey signed by Sharangovich, Graves, Wood, McLeod & Marino. Are the Ms going to be the only ones left of this team? 🙁

    My only concern is if our young Dmen can hold their own, or will we be the oilers of the east.

    Bahl, Luke, and Nemec are each going to get big opportunities this season. My only worry this season is that we’re going to ask too much too soon from them, but if even 2 of them can rise to the challenge, it’s gonna be a really fun season.

    So

    Dougie/Seigs/Marino/Bahl are roster locks

    Nemec/Hughes are presumably going to get spots but have to prove they are everyday guys this season

    Smith is not going to play every game but will get time due to injury and poor play

    So that leaves Casey as the next guy up who will be given a chance to show hes an NHL guy. Im not sure hell get games this year but will get a look at camp and the preseason.

    Cap is getting tight and we still have more contracts to hand out but i wonder if Fitz is going to grab another D man in the 1.5-2 range.

    Also wonder if Casey is viewed as a roster player in the next few years or if hes a trade piece.

    I’m surprised we couldn’t get a late rounder for him so another team had rights. In other off-seasons, no but this off-seasons selection is very thin.
