The thing is, we basically already have a full top 6 in the minors. With the likes of Mailloux, Hutson, Engstrom, Barron I’m surprised to see a Dman being drafted by MTL. I woulda loved seeing Michkov pan out in mtl but I’m willing to give the kid a chance to prove me wrong

I’m incredibly disappointed.
Not in the pick, but by the reaction of our fans in this sub. We try to claim that the Habs are the best fanbase in the world, but the things I’ve seen commented towards Reinbacher, Hughes, Gorton, and Price are absolutely disgusting.
People are saying we drafted a bust despite widely being regarded as the best defenceman in the draft, and I can guarantee most of the people saying this have never seen Reinbacher play.
Everyone would do well to take a step back and remember that the kid is 18 years old, and has his entire career ahead of him. Was he the best pick? Who knows. But nobody can determine that today, so spewing negativity, and acting as if the world is ending is ridiculous.
This sub is reacting like a 6 year old throwing a temper tantrum. A lot of maturation is needed for a lot in this sub. Embarrassing look for our fanbase.

In the context of what Arizona did at 6OA, I get why they couldn’t move down and grab an extra asset given Reinbacher was their guy. Can’t say I am not disappointed they didn’t grab Leonard but if Reinbacher works out this could turn out to be a great pick.
