I have to wonder how fast Daniel Komen would have run if he’d had a light display virtual Jakob Ingebrigsten beside him. He was unchallenged and likely if not certainly could have run faster.

It's much more of American and UK interest I guess, because of the history, however, like Jakob there are plenty of other athletes worldwide who run that here and there. But unlike the either non-Olympic 3000 m and the mile run, this 2 mi record isn't even declared officially as a world record by World Athletics, "just" as world best. Nonetheless that time and the 3000 m split, man. This running viking is crazy! 😳 Average speed 27 km/h, so 16.77 mph! What the heck?! 😲

The lights telling runners what pace they need to run to break records is very unfortunate and an unfair gain in competition, compared to past running achievements achieved without such help.

Did Koman use pace setters during his WR run? Probably not. Imagine how Koman would perform with pace setters.
Notice he and his brother Filip are the only brothers to run worlds fastest times in the 1500 meters. Any other brothers who’ve run that fast please let me know. Jim Ryan ran on cinder tracks and those times should be adjusted vs synthetic tracks proves he was actually faster.

It's one of the oldest records because it is only very rarely run. It's very impressive but that's just the truth no many care about a 2 mile record. If Jacob wants to cement his place he will need to go for regular wr from 1500m up to 10000m. That's were all elite clash
