  1. St. Louis is working teams over first Detroit trading Vrana for practically nothing and now getting Hayes for nothing again. The Blues are taking good players with issues or bad contracts and turning them into gold.

  2. To bad we couldn't trade them Garland and 50% retained. A big fast third line center. We needed a guy like that.

  3. Yes it is a bad deal. Hayes' value is low right now so only getting a 6th is about normal. But eating salary makes Briere look like a Chuck Fletcher rerun. There were 'leaks' from his staff that this was going to be a blockbuster trade involving about 6 players, draft picks, & prospects. He'll learn from that, letting the word out too soon, so the rest of the league gets him bent over a barrel. Imagine a year ago, if Hayes was coming here from StL. Fletcher would have probably gotten fleeced for a 2nd, a 3rd, then given Hayes a long-term contract. Consider ourselves lucky.

  4. This is not a robbery Kevin Hayes is on a steady decline, and it is a straight salary dump due to an awful contract because of shitty Chuck Fletcher. Had Krug not refused to waive his NTC we are all singing a different tune right now, but I can not say that I blame him for not wanting to be apart of a rebuild at 32.

Briere still has some work to do and I am sure he will get it done, I'm glad to see Hayes out of Philadelphia he is a lazy one way player, enjoy that -22 he's bringing with him.

  5. I'm wondering if this might not be a wink-and-nob trade. It's possible that St. Louis and Philly will do something else down the road to even this trade out, or it might be like when the Blues traded away TJ Oshie for nothing because of a dumb-f!*% coach (Hitchcock).

  6. Hayes is a good player that Cap hit made it harder to move him when wanting to make Cap room .. People are looking at this as Briere getting screwed i see it a win Sanheim if he is still on the roster opening night this season his cap hit will be higher . Briere needed to free up some Cap space and still needs to free up some more . Fletcher put the team in Cap hell they still need to resign players and make room if Couturier & Atkinson and up coming back their Cap hit together is just a bit over 13mil Dap Friendly has them now at 10 mil under the Cap . and I'm sure Briere is working phones to free up as much cqp as he thinks he needs.

  7. We need to stop assessing trades by the player return. That is old school thinking. Salary cap relief has now become a valuable commodity and it genuinely affects your ability to build a solid roster. Welcome to the new NHL.

  8. It is what it is, but any team in the league could have had Hayes. This, apparently, was the best offer (only offer?) they received.

  9. iwas wtf philly and stlouis knocked it out of the park with philly paying half of his salary going forward, big win by st louis..

  10. Basically gave away the Flyers’ 2nd best player for nothing. Either Danny B has something up his sleeve or this is a fleecing.

  11. If you think this Robbery than you drastically underestimate, the cost of cap and his comparables. Flyers weren't going to get much in return unless he played like an All Star and he didnt

  12. Highway robbery? Hardly. Never out-performed his contract while in Philly, largely inconsistent, not too healthy over the past few years.

We got rid of an aging stiff. No real loss.

  13. 3.5 mil for an 18 goal, -22 +/- last season whos in his 30s…glad the flyers got rid of him…hes a fake all-star. Sad thing is that was only HALF his salary. Wish we got more than a 6th, but this definitely isnt a robbery. Hopefully the people with common sense out there read this and realize why it was only a 6th…we can all thank our good "friend" Chucky

  14. Hayes if fri3nds with spittin chiclets crew, he is worth half is salary for the press on the show.

  15. low hanging fruit .. the blues are a cheap run org .. the blues top nine is vomit .. im rooting against them.. eff me
