No surprise. I like Soucy, but not enough to overpay him like some other team is about to do.
Ryker Evans in the wings makes this decision a lot easier

If he signs for 2.5M elsewhere and would have taken that to stay then I think we will have made a mistake.

While having a 100pt defenseman on the roster is intriguing, he’ll be expensive for the next 4 years, and I’d much rather see Evans slot in instead.
That’s been clear for quite a while now. Surprised this is news to Frank but also not at all surprised
I think teams will pay a premium for playoff Soucy, who was quite good, especially in a relatively weak FA class
