[DiMarco] Sounds like the initial deal between STL/PHI is completely dead in the water.

How you accept a trade without checking to see if a player will waive his NTC is beyond me

That’s pretty shit no? I know Hayes is hated here but he still has some value especially if we’re retaining salary.

Can’t wait for the only trade between now and Thursday to be Hayes to STL for a bag of Doritos and then for Michkov to go to MTL. Gotta love life as a Flyers fan…

Who’s more to blame here chuck or torey krug lol

I’m not a big fan of all of this trade info leaking out to these twitter hacks well before they’re reality, but I am happy to know Danny B is being aggressive to get this thing moving as soon as possible.

No shit. Trades don’t get released in the media like that unless they are basically done. And it was obvious there were a ton of moving parts that weren’t hashed out. Including getting arguably the biggest piece to waive his NTC.

Really not sure what Briere and the Flyers were doing here. Trying to pressure Krug through the media?

It makes sense to me to agree to the trade before asking a player to waive his NTC. That request is likely to create bad blood between the player and his team, so you don’t want to ask unless you know you’ve got a deal.

I don’t think there was anything wrong with this process, except maybe how much of it got leaked between us and the Blues. Teams hammered out the framework for a deal, then they asked Krug to waive his NTC and Krug said no. Shit happens, on to the next deal.

But all of the Twitter experts like Antsan told me it was ironed out.

That sucks but I still think Danny will pull something off by the draft tomorrow (beyond the alleged TDA deal), whether the Blues are that partner or not.

The deal got leaked when it was sent to St. Louis and was likely agreed upon in principle, before they went to Krug. I blame the reporters saying thing like “basically a done deal” when it wasn’t. And a GM isn’t going to tell a player he’s on the block until a deal is ready. There’s no reason to spook a player if there’s no point to it yet.

I feel like was never any real steam behind this trade

Get this shit out of here. The trade was never accepted. It was **leaked**.
