Been saying it for a long time now: Karlsson @ 50% retained for Chabot, Thompson, 3rd.
I love the idea of this, but the cap hit and losing Chabot is scary. If we made the playoffs this year, and made it to the 2nd round I'd be more comfortable with this train of though.
We're not close enough to blow that kind of asset value and cash for this.
This team needs to show they can at least make it to the 2nd round before of a move of this magnitude is done.
Would love to see Karlsson back in Ottawa, just his paying skills bring people to watch a game and he has shown he has his mojo back. With Eric back in the lineup, the scoring capabilities of the team would be immensely be more potent.
I'm not sure which one is more of an injury case. At least Chabot is cheaper

Sens need a goalie more than they need EK65. Unless San Jose retains half his salary and we don't have to give up any of our top 6 forwards or top 4 defenseman, it doesn't make sense.

For one thing, Karlsson was my favorite player but I would rather keep Chabot and go out and get another D-Man. Look I think Eric is one of the best D-Men in the NHL ever but we can do it without him. I think it would be a distraction to the teammates if we traded Chabot for Karlsson. I really believe we can do it without him.
Karlsson is much better than Chabot
Karlsson was amazing last year, but he's one injury away from being early Shark Karlsson. Then again, it might be worth the gamble if the Sens go all in this year.
