You have missed the most obvious target for the Blackhawks' second pick in the 1st round – it is Colby Barlow. He has a lethal shot and he is a scoring machine, a perfect partner for Connor Bedard. In a sense he would become a poor man's Alexander Ovechkin with Bedard feeding him and setting him up. He is also one of the most difficult prospects to play against (according to his draft eligible peers) and has considerable net front presence. This may be the only player I would specifically trade up for, which will require giving up one of their 2nd round picks. Otherwise, by sitting at #19 one of the following will fall to them: Quentin Musty, Samuel Honzek, Calum Ritchie, or Daniil But.
Regarding goalies, the best play is to select one at # 55 or 67 (top of 3rd round) and (FWIW) my choice from who will be available (Note: Michael Hrabel will be gone) is Adam Gajan from Slovakia.
If Anaheim drafts Matvei Michkov instead of Adam Fantilli, their GM Pat Verbeek will be on a very short leash.
If Michkov is off the board, would Washington be willing to trade down?
