If you read the conditions attached to the 2025 1st rounder from Calgary, it is much more likely that we end up not with Calgary's #1, but with Florida's #1. Go figure.
I was aware and I had Calgary winning the cup before the season started until the departure of Tkachuk and Gaudreault. BUt like Winnipeg many want to leave their respective teams. Calgary can also giver up their 2024 pick or 2025 so depending on where they are in the standings still bodes well for Montreal.
Best case scenario is that Florida is bottom 10 in the upcoming season and then we’d get Calgary’s puck hoping they suck in 2025
