David Pagnotta: “Ottawa continues discussions with multiple clubs about Alex DeBrincat. The #GoSensGo could get into the first-round and bring back a 1st as part of a deal, but it’s not a prerequisite for every team they’re talking to. Wings own picks 9 & 17 overall and remain in the mix for him”

I don’t mind moving 17 if we can sign him but Yzerman wouldn’t do that if he knew Cat will just test free agency next year and sign for just cash.

My guess is a couple 2’s are in play for Stevie.

Garroch said today that Debrincat may have to expand his list of destinations or end up back in Ottawa on a cheaper deal next year. To me, that indicates they are not getting the offers they are looking for from anyone who is on said list.

I still say 9 and 17 don’t move for Cat. Next years Bruins pick maybe.

Or we will have to wait after this season who knows how Our team will look this season

If we’re gonna do a trade, let’s get it done before other teams fuck up the market by trading a 1st and 2nd for Laughton.

Here’s the thing for me. How many times were the wings able to net an additional first rounder through trades during this long rebuild? Less than half the time. I’m not giving up that asset for a player, who may very well come here on his own next year. Ottawa gave up pick 8 last year, and this is a deeper draft. Help them damn near break even on their gamble? Not happening.

If we were a step or two further in the timeline it’d be different conversation when discussing adding a 30-40 goal scorer, but we aren’t.

Stevie prob made his offer and sens are hoping for something better. I’m curious how trade offers work. You have 2 hours to think it over? 2 days?

The closer and closer to the draft the less likely this seems. Can’t see yzerman trading a big package without a contract kinda firmed out beforehand.
