[Foley] Here’s what I am hearing… – Sanheim, Hayes will be Blues – Kyrou is not involved – One of Krug/Faulk will go – A late-First (I believe #25) will go to Philly – There’s cap dump involved – Parayko/Leddy not involved but are in other trade talks

    Trustworthy source?

Kyrou not being involved is pretty fucking obvious

Would love to get Sanheim off the books, don’t love taking Krug. Faulk would be a good one though and I think would excel in the Torts system of grinding

Both Krug and Faulk have 4 years left at 6.5m. Sanheim is 8 years at 6.25m. No matter what, we’re essentially halfing Sanheim’s contract. Briere with another potential *phenomenal* move.

I’m hearing the Buchnevich and Robert Thomas aren’t involved either

How do we feel about the 25th for Hayes+Sanheim just in general? I’m personally not super thrilled with that at face value but I understand getting out of lengthy contracts. Willing to hear counterpoints, maybe I’m underestimating our need to dump Sanheim

TK going to be losing his best bud and neighbour

    (Please don’t move TK)

In a vacuum getting an additional 1st this year while not having to worry about dealing with the back half of Sanheims contract seems like a big win, but from a value perspective I actually think we kind of lose this trade in this given proposal.

Assuming it’s a guy like Scandella coming back as the dump, I think the difference in value between retained Hayes + Sanheim vs. Krug + Scandella is more than a late 1st rounder.

Will be interesting to see how this plays out in the end. The reporting around this has been a mess, and I honestly expect the end result to look different than this

Unpopular opinion: I’m not a fan of trading Sanheim.

  8. I wonder what other assets are going to be traded to Philly

  9. Who the hell is this guy? Reminds me of when Prov. was traded and a few no names were saying Hart was gone.

“I created this twitter account to rehash other “leaks” while adding in absurdly obvious details because 90% of fans don’t know about players that aren’t on your team.”

No fucking shit Kyrou isn’t involved.

Dany B is killing it this off-season

Krug holding it up per The Hockey Guy…
Might be a go around deal with another team.
    Split on the Hayes contract.

  13. Thanks for clarifying whether or not jordan kyrou was involved lol

Considering the return that Ryan Johansen just got, getting Hayes off the books and getting anything of value coming back was going to be a heavy lift. That said, his and Sanheim’s contracts are awful. If Briere intends on weaponizing the cap, those two contracts would certainly prevent that. Obviously we’ll be getting a cap dump back, but the fact that they have half the term as Sanheim is frankly a huge part of the return. And then you consider a first? I dunno, I simply can’t be mad at that return given the albatross that both players present to a successful rebuild, not just now, but in Sanheim’s case, in the future as well.

No actual thoughts on the trade, but I’m just enjoying all of the comments of us saying “no duh Kyrou isn’t involved”.

    Great work, everyone
