Everythng Ive heard is that Murray Edwards wont let the team blow up and do a rebuild, insisting on trying to be competitive every year no matter what. The Flames nearly relocated twice between the late 90s and 2003, the teams were so bad that they lost a lot of fans attendance. Between that and the incredibly weak Canadian dollar its little wondet why Edwards does what he (allegedly?) does.
I dont have any insider info, but have been a Flames fan since the late 80s and witnessed it all
