Why is it hard for players to say in Calgary?
As a flames fan Im totally ok with replacing all 4 off those players, and that opens the door and cap space to bring in other players, so I'm excited for the next couple weeks

Also Imo the flyers can’t afford to trade Hart because it’s been impossible for them to get good goalies. Samuel Ersson was great for them last year but Hart is the guy. I’m glad that they are realizing they need a rebuild however I think Cutter, Hart, Farabee and York are the guys they have to keep
warm weather and less tax sign me up
NJ needs to avoid Hellebuyck. He's already 30 right now, so paying him 8-9.5M until he's also 40 will become an albatross very quickly. We should trade for Gibson instead. He's cheaper, younger, and will absolutely return to form on a competent defense. Any GM disregarding Gibson because of recency bias is making a big, foolish mistake. When Gibson bounces back, his contract will be a steal. Especially since his trade value is at an all-time low right now. Take advantage of that NJ.
Seravalli is full of shit. The Blues made no such offer for Laughton. Literally hours after he posted this nonsense, Doug Armstrong gave an interview that essentially smashed Seravalli's nonsense claim.
calgary has an unpolished gem in their depth charts, william stromgren, who i think can turn into a player.. if i was trading with calgary, i would try to get fish up stromgren. i dont know how high calgary is on him.

As far as the Devils are concerned, nobody is getting over $9 million PERIOD It's not New Jersey's problem that he took less money in his prime. Even more of a problem with Hellebuyck is the length of the contract…No one should be giving him a 7 year deal at 9+ (3-4 years…sure) At 450 games played, he is realistically one injury away from derailing the Devils before they get started.

All NJ needs to do is eventually go 15 mil over the cap magically have two high paid guys out all season on LTIR then magically they both reappear for the playoffs.This is the current trend in the NHL CHEAT the systems because cheating is a better formula for winning the cup than actually drafting and developing a team.I would rather cheat the cap 13 mil than get Hellebuyck.

I can't help but wonder what the exact reasons are these & past players want out of CGY. Taxes? The day-to-day of living in Calgary? The totalitarian communist govt in Canada? Or, are there issues within the organization that are driving players away & keeping others from wanting to go there in the first place? Maybe it's a combination of these, I dunno. But, ownership – not management – needs to find the answers. This is the kind of issue where if ownership doesn't lead, nothing will change.

Winnipeg sends Dubois and two firsts for Byfield and Kaliev.
I know its common for fans to overrate players on their team but scotty Laughton is one of the hardest working players on the flyers an absolute workhorse any GM who gives up a lot for him should be fine, its almost impossible to lose on a player like this
He's a 5.5 mil contract… and if Philly wants to lose a 5.5 mil, maybe it costs Philly a little more then receiving team??
