As long as its not the 5th pick, i would be good. I would rather give up Norlinder over Harris because he is expendable and wont make the team. The Jets cant ask for more because even L.A doesn't want to give Byfield and co. L.A got Fiala for a 1st and mid prospect and Fiala put up more points than PLD.
I think they might ask for Owen Beck or Joshua Roy.Either way the price is too steep for a player who they're going to lose anyway. I'm still hoping fir Carlsson but Smith would be a good option👍🥴

Roy and Kidney should not be part of any trade with Winnipeg involving Dubois. Before anything gets done, management must know if Dubois would accept the same deal Caufield took. If not, they should move on, it wouldn't be fair for either Suzuki or Caufield.

Just dont fucking trade for PLD. If he wants to play for the habs he should sign when hes a free agent.
Admittedly it's dependent on what contract PLD is willing to accept, if it's more than 8.5 for 6 – 8 years, I don't even make the trade. If it's within that I think your offer is way more reasonable than some I've seen out there, PLD isn't getting Dach in return. I'd be willing to up the first to the Fla one, and swap Harris for another prospect depending on what they want. That said I'd be loath to include Barron mostly because we are thin on the right side. Would be willing to give up one of Beck, Riley, or Roy instead of Harris, but only of our choosing (i.e. Mtl's choice of the three, not Wpg).
Don't trade for a guy who suggests he would like to play for you. wait for him to become UFA and find out how much he actually wants. Don't trade for him and then give him all that leverage in salary negotiation.
This guy is perhaps worth $7.5 million a year? Perhaps.
Let someone else trade for him.
Pierre luc dubois is not a first line center. He would be the best center in Montreal if they sign him.

PLD has proven to have a short shelf life with teams and bows out in the playoffs but importantly he has something Montreal needs, Centerman with size. We can not train a player to have size. Pierre luc dubois is not a first line center, as yet. Can St. Louis assist in changing that? Maybe. This guy is worth $7 million/yr x 7 years? Or, 8 million x 7 year. Perhaps. It could be a organizational game changer. I think it would take more than the 37th pick, Dvorak with dman-Harris to swing the deal.

Monahan had an interview earlier today. My take away is that Monahan is a classy act. We are fortunate to have resigned him. He is humble and grateful to have been given the chance to play in Montreal plus his strong connection with Coach St.Louis. The best coach he has ever had. The timing of this is interesting and could sway PLD's outlook for Montreal in a positive way? It probably depends on Dubois's character.

If the Habs stay at #5 (I don't think anyone in the top 4 is looking to move down personally), AND Michkov is still available, I would absolutely want them to draft him. Unless of course something they don't like comes up during their interview, etc., etc.
Either way, I REALLY hope Hughes won't touch such a valuable first round pick in order to acquire PLD.
To me, those 2 things shouldn't even come up within the same conversation!
One aspect that shouldn't be forgotten when it comes to the Jets : their management in Winnipeg has been extremely poor for a while now. Yes they have the short end of the stick when it comes to PLD and MTL, but it's possible they don't even realize it that much and STILL won't see reason.
I mean, they did ask for Suzuki at some point no? Not very serious nor realistic from their part is what I'm basically saying here. The trade you proposed is as much as they should get for PLD.
Secondly, if we get him by trade and not as a free agent in one year, then he'll either sign what Suzuki and Cole got, or it's not going to work. But as a free agent yeah, he'll get more but we still cannot overpay him too much more than that. It wouldn't be responsible and would also go against the culture we're trying to establish amongst our top talents imho.

PLD is a 60 point player, nothing more. Suzuki had more points last year and played with garbage line mates half the year. No thanks on PLD, already quit on 2 teams. Engels has a man crush on PLD for some reason.
If Montreal seriously wants PLD, they will have to outbid a bunch of other teams. You wont be able to offer scraps to Winnipeg. Winnipeg will not just give PLD away to Montreal just because PLD wants to play there. PLD will likely end up becoming an LA King within the week. LA needs PLD more than Montreal does, and they are ready, willing and able to pay big to get him.
