none of them players will be in toronto because toronto doesnt want to give anything up and they dont have any pieces that any of them teams would want

I'd only trade for guys with term. No rentals. O' Reilly's best days are behind him. Why give up a Knies for a third line centre. Now maybe if they take Kerfoot I'd consider it.
Get Meier and flip him in the summer for bottom six players.
I'd trade John Tavares in the summer as well. JT is an anchor and you're only going to start moving on in the playoffs if you trade him. If you don't get assets back for JT it's going to be worse than the Kessel trade IMO because you could have had Kadri on 4.5 mill for 6 years but you went JT for 11 mill for 7 years. Classic big market blunder. You don't win cups if you trade your heart & soul guys.
