  1. Thanks Patrick
    I are my favorite Blackhawk
Wish you all the best moving on
Love the way you play the game!

  2. Well done Kane from 1 liberal sh1t hole state to another. He must like poverty and violent crime.

  3. I really hope Kane signs and stays with the rangers till he retires. Especially after saying it’s NY or nothing. But yeah the rangers are looking like a super team. Something like the golden state warriors

  4. it'll be odd seeing him in aRangers Jersey…but quite a career story being on two origional six teams in Chicago and New York should be proud and pretty cool tbh..not sure theres many otehrs to do that combo…most players end their career sin New York im guessing maybe Kane ends his career here in the next 5 years or so or maybe theyre just using him as a rental and he signs elsewhere in the offseason..but i wouldnt be siurprised if he finishes his career here hes got 5 years or more left. hed probably like to end it in New York

  5. Надеюсь Панарин и Кейн будут вместе до конца карьеры обоих в Нью-Йорк Рейнжерс 😎🦾🇷🇺

  6. И все же рейнджеры не потянут кубок. Или мишки или Колорады.

  7. Not sayin the Leafs would have won the cup if Kane were in Toronto, but they would have gotten past the first round for the first time in 18 years. Sometimes ya gotta conquer that one obstacle that's always stopped you time n time again. We saw that with Ovi & the Caps in 2017, where they finally got past the 2nd round and against the one team that Ovi could never eliminate–the Pens.

  8. So many people buy in to the Kyle Davidson talking-point that Chicago had "ZERO LEVERAGE," but that is simply not so. I will explain (though anyone who regularly negotiates should already know) what leverage the Blackhawks had; but first, wouldn't you agree, hypothetically, that a party to a negotiation who knows that he has some leverage will demand more in return than if he believes he has zero leverage? That much seems self-evident.

So, what leverage did Chicago have? The leverage of the take-away.

In any negotiation, both sides want something: Chicago wants maximum return for their superstar player, and New York wants… what? They want to win the Stanley Cup THIS YEAR. The Rangers moved heaven and earth to create cap space for Patrick Kane, because they believe that #88 could be the missing piece that lifts them to their dream of a championship this year. NYR believe they have a better chance of making their dream come true with Kane, than without him.

Yet, NY knew that Chicago had no other teams to trade Kane to, so they made a lowball offer of a 2nd and 4th round pick in exchange — and though the 2nd rounder may upgrade, the risk is on the Blackhawks, not on the Rangers. So, Davidson throws up his hands and says, it's the best we can get, and we have to accept a lose-win, because NY has all the leverage.

Really? How about the leverage of taking away NY's dream? As in, "sorry Mr. Drury, but a 2nd and 4th isn't good enough to let a champion player like Patrick Kane go; so if you want to add the magic ingredient of #88 to your roster for a cup run, then you can bid against 30 other teams in the off-season — no, make that 31, because WE have tons of cap space in Chicago, and we will also be bidding to keep Kaner in Chicago for another 3-4 years, to finish his career where his number will one day hang from the rafters, and to keep filling the seats at the UC."

Of course, no deal would be a LOSS for the Blackhawks, who would end up with nothing for Kane; but it would also be a LOSS for NY; and that is the element that most commentators are missing: what the other party wants.

By offering the Rangers a LOSE-LOSE, the Blackhawks would be losing what? A 2nd & 4th round pick; and the Rangers would be losing what? Their DREAM. THAT IS LEVERAGE. It faces the Rangers with a choice of giving a little more of what the Blackhawks want, or losing what they want. The cost of their dream comes down to a marginal improvement in what NY gives the Hawks. Admittedly, "if I go down, I'm taking you down with me," is not the best leverage, and it could end in a lose-lose, with everyone walking away empty handed; or it could end with the Rangers saying something like, "we want Kane, so damn it, we'll upgrade that 2nd rounder to a first rounder, but in 2025." Now, that would be a win-win, obtained by leaning on the little bit of leverage that Chicago did have.

It is unknowable whether that leverage would have been enough; but what is certain is that the GM who believes he has no leverage will get rolled.
