I met Mike Vernon at a bar and didn’t know it was him. We sat and talked for about 3 hours, and he gave me his business card. I looked him up the next day. Couldn’t believe it.
Great guy

Almo should be in yesterday. Weak class. The HHOF has become hall of some guy that played hockey for a while.

Finally me and the other five Barrasso jersey owners can rejoice
StPatrick174
Seems like a really weak class.

Mike Vernon? Before Rod Brind’amor, Pierre Turgeon, Alex Mogilny or Keith Tkachuk? The hell? I’m not sure he’s even the most deserving Red Wings goalie,* Osgood’s got better career numbers and one more ring.
^(*Yes I know Vernon played most of his career with Calgary)

No Mogilny again 😢
edavEnaB
Kind of agree, weak class. Barrasso having 2 cups, a Calder, and Vezina is enough though. But… CANNOT BELIEVE MOGILNY IS NOT IN YET

Hank deserves it

The Hall of Fame is so watered down it’s laughable 😅.

I’m going to sound like a dick but Hank is the only one here who actually belongs in the hall and even as a rangers fan, the lack of cups is hard and only really compensated by Olympic gold.
The rest are really hall of very good type of players.
Also please don’t reply to this with bs about Hank he was top three in goals saved above expected for a decade straight and first 4/10 times. All of this while receiving statically awful support in front of him.
During his time with the rangers they were bottom half in goals for and bottom half in expected goals against, yet were a cup contender for five years and a playoff team throughout that would generally win at least one round.
During those playoffs he received the third worst goal support of any qualified goalie and had the third worst expected goals against, despite this they went to three conference finals and a cup final. He had a sv % north of .930 in game sevens and a gaa under 1.8. In non game sevens where the rangers could be eliminated he had a .971 sv % and a gaa under 2.
Absolutely unreal player foiled by an unserious organization.

Hockey has the lowest bar for HOF. I thought it was ridiculous when Guy Carbonneau was inducted but now Mike Vernon? Dude was above league average for save pct like 3 times in his entire career. He was definitely great in his 2 Cup runs but I think the standard for the HOF should be higher.
Lundqvist is deserving tho. Consistently great throughout his career.

Mogilny and rod the bod not being in yet is truly an embarrassment to hockey
larue555
Kind of bummed Zetterberg wasn’t voted in. Happy for Lundquist.

Huge Rangers fan and super happy for Henrik but how the hell did CuJo get passed up again
Physical-Spell1563
I wouldn’t have minded Mogilny over Barrasso. 76 goals in a year. Consistent scorer and PPG player. Not a bad class but I think electing 3 goalies at once kinda cheapens it for them all.

It’s nice to see some great goalies in the spotlight
