I would never trade Stützle for just a pure goal scorer. Stützle does everything he scores he puts up and assists that he kills penalties scores, and Shorthanded and his defensive game have grown. Matthews may be the better scorer, but Stützle will he the better all-around player.
Also that goals for/against comparison are a joke. Look at the Sens' defense and goaltending with the injuries this season. Also Stützle plays a lot of minutes. So with the combination of playing a lot and significantly weaker teams, then the Leafs can't compare that. Also, not all those goals against are Stützles fault.
So you're gunna need to make a better argument then this piss poor one

Hmmm I mean I like matthews quite a lot more but cap gymnastics is a thing. Assuming we have that huge increase we’ve been hearing about I would do that trade if I can lock up an extension on matthews.

Stutzle over matthews anyday. Matthews turns ghost in playoffs . And we have yet to see stutzle in a playoff series . That being said. Stutzle is playing unreal hockey . All around the ice when Mathhews Is just a toe drag and shot type player . Not really impressive
