By staying with the Leaf core 4 – the team looks like they have given up on playoff success and are ok with regular season success. So why not just keep Coach Keefe? He is well known and liked and the Leafs make lots of money this way. This is safe & somehow some Leaf fans feel their situation compares with Edmonton. Let them believe it is so.
Darn, I was getting ready to order a Toronto jersey with Roy on the back.
Keefe is a career 13-17 in the playoffs. Only in Toronto are you rewarded for mediocrity. Respected in the room? Don’t think so. After walking back those comments last season because Marner’s feelings were hurt, Keefe lost whatever respect he ever had.
Keefe should have been fired last season when you had coaches like Cassidy and Trotz among others who were available.
Congrats Sheldon.
I see a slightly different approach now that Dubas isn’t in the shadows.
There’s no question that Dubas influenced some of the moves Keefe made.
Now we can see a true Sheldon Keefe.
Contract … two years minimum and preferably three.
When you look at who’s available to replace him.. Nah.
There’s nobody that’s proven themselves better.

Just as Volatile as Torts. Caustic moments and could destroy the Chemistry the Leafs have.
