I wouldn’t blame it to much on Campbell, 4 of the goals were deflected in. This is exactly how LA scored in the playoffs last year and nearly advanced to the next round. 90% of LAs goals were deflected in last playoffs, no skill required. Winnipeg got lucky with the deflections tonight.
Campbell was disappointing for sure. But there's still some positive things to point to for playoffs though. Bjugstad will probably look pretty good by time for it too.
I watched part of the video titled "THE JETS FINALLY WIN A GAME!!!! – 2022/23 Winnipeg Jets Game Recap&Reaction 63/82" narrated by the BC Lower Mainland-based Peg City Hockey YouTube man, with a claim by him of the clear need for his favourite team to break out of its recent slump. Yet from the Oilers' perspective tonight's game was ugly. To whatever degree Jack Campbell, not known to be an elite goalie with any NHL team with which he's been (at least not consistently), may be responsible for costing the Oilers the Game against the Jets, there's no doubt the Oilers threw defence right under the bus. Giving up 7 goals is absolutely INSANE. Sure last season the Leafs beat the Wings 10-7 in a regular-season game but wins like that IMO have been quite unusual. Few teams manage to score 7 goals/game never mind 8 or more.
Let’s not beat around the bush, Campbell expected saves made is atrocious and for anyone citing the dmen or no scoring or whatever by the metrics he doesn’t stop enough goals that he should. Case closed and Holland is going to have to consider moving him in the summer or buying him out. Admit your mistakes and move on
I was at this game watching it live at Canada life centre it was one of the greatest NHL games in this season!! Sadly oilers lost but I was not upset about it, we will win the next one!!! LETS GO OILERS!!! Great Hatrick by Draisaitl! Great game by both teams oilers and jets!!!! Alot of oilers fans cheering our oilers on in Canada life centre tonight! We will get those jets next year! LETS GO OILERS!
There was more than 2 tipped goals but I was waiting for him to be pulled. Agree the team plays different as in panic mode. Can’t afford to lose points with the west so close. Cece looked lost as well. Bouch looked good on the pp. Bjudstad looked good with no practice. I see things will improve. Game was a circus and the clowns had striped shirts on. I would play Campbell next game with a really short lease.
Every goalie has a bad game every now and then. Campbell's had way more bad games than good ones. Time to flash the Matt Berlin Bat signal over Roger's Place.
you need to have a goalie that can win you games when defence isnt performing. Especially when you score 5 goals yourself. Sad to see, dont want to loose hope in Campbell but it doesnt look good. Some people say that defence isnt playing well upfront of Campbell, but if im on defence and i know he is in the net. i hold that stick tighter knowing if i make a mistake he isnt going to bail me out, BUT HE SHOULD AS A 5 MILLION DOLLAR STARTER.
Send him down to work things out and bring up Pickard as the backup. Pickard IS a career backup and has 116 NHL games to his name. He's playing pretty well down in BAK right now with a 2.84 GAA and a 0.911 save percentage. 26 Games 14W-9L-2OT-1SO. At least if he put up stinker games like this one, everyone knows that he's an AHL goalie and paid like one, rather than on a 5 x 5Million contract.
Jack can go down and get back into the form that we know he can play at, but right now the Oilers can't afford so many games where we score 5 and lose.
Either that or ask Smitty to get back into game shape. 😁
Patrick, Brother. Too critical dude. I thought it was a good game. Jets came to play. We lost evenly could have gone either way. Sucks we had to take the L but overall the team looked solid
Campbell 32/38 = .842 Save %age which is not good (I mean he let in 6 plus an empty netter that doesn't count against him)
Oilers Jets
Shots 35 39
Hits 13 29
Faceoffs 33 34
PP 2/3 1/3
Giveaways 6 12
Takeaways 6 8
Blocks 15 19
Campbell made some big saves BUT he also let in some stinkers and the Oilers gave them too much. The team played poorly in front of Campbell. This was one of the sloppiest games I've seen in some time. They tied it up, even went ahead once then Campbell lets in 2 goals 22 or 23 seconds apart and that was it folks. Leon is the only real reason this one was anything for the Oilers and newcomer Bjugstad did some good work too (big hit, got a goal, I mean what do you expect). Oilers weren't hitting a lot compared to the Jets. Result sucks on a night where we could have taken over 3rd in the conference. Take care all.

It's sames like the team loses its confidence in front of Jack Campbell. We've seen that over & over again. Trade him.
That shorty from Nuge and Janmark was something sweet. Honestly the Oil had 18 mins in the 3rd to tie the game, didn't do it. Not all on Soup but…

Campbell needs to try be a stand-up goalie. He’s too tiny in the net when he hits his knees. Maybe our goalie coach can figure it out😮

A stinker but it's not all lost yet.

I believe Campbell is about losing self confidence. He should play the game as a game but not a personal problem….
I had high hopes for Campbell this year…but he friggin sucks!!
CKinner for 3
bring back Smith as the 2nd netter. bring Campbell to the Bakersfield for a month.
No glove hamd!
I'm almost starting to miss Mikko. That soup has gone sour in my mouth

Too bad we couldn't trade campbell😪

It seems every time Jack plays, it is likely to be a high scoring game : )

Campbell can't even stop a beachball…he stinks.
Why blame Campbell and not McDavid, who constantly gets shut down by the Jets.
