  1. Steve, I want to follow you to the new show, but you will eventually lose me if you don't rein in the cursing somewhat. A good swear word properly placed can really make a point. But how many times do I have to hear "baby sh1t" in ten minutes?

  2. Jesse gets it. Maybe it’s my fault for watching so much, but they’ve had this conversation a few times. I like when they asked him he said that, and continued to talk about it without Jesse.

  3. There are a million players with buntings skill set. He is not needed. Super replaceable

  4. Finally, someone in Leafs nation calling a spade a spade! The Leafs need to learn to stand up for themselves and for one another. They are a soft team and that gets exposed in the playoffs.

  5. Easy answer, give Bunting a raise for his points or let him walk. Someone's gonna give him $5mil times some number of years…

  6. Bunting was a great contract. At 3 mill I am not sure if he is but perhaps worth the gamble. At 5 I would say he belongs on another team.

  7. The Leafs performed better in the playoffs without Bunting. Playoff officials do not support players like Bunting – so subjective officials call against players like Bunting just hurt theLeads.

  8. Leafs need one or two players who can live by the words of the legendary fictional dodge ball coach Patches O'Houlihan "You've got to get angry! You've got to get mean! That's the only way you can play!"

  9. The Leaf’s stars need to fend for themselves. Ovi, fends for himself, Crosby (as much as it pains me) fends for himself, and countless others. Matthews and Marner look as though they couldn’t even beat up a child.

  10. I'm really pumped they are letting him go. He was more of a liability than he was a benefit and every leaf fan saw that this season.

  11. Why can't You Guys see how hard Real Ice Hockey Players Work when Team Mates don't Cover Their Zones Properly.
Bunting Knows how to cover Zones and Dominate the Puck and the 3 Floaters , Mathews , Marner, and Nylander Don't know how to cover Zones and Wont Dominate the Puck.
Tavaras and Bunting have to Work to Hard trying to make Up for what those 3 Floaters Wont do.
You Guys Keep blaming the Real Ice Hockey Players and say nothing about the Hard work Tavaras and Bunting are doing Covering 3 zones Every Shift.
Tavaras and Bunting are Like Trading Clark and Gilmore , One of them is Stupid but trading 2 of Them is Suicidal, just like the Leafs management.

  13. Bunting is what Dubas (sorry haters) & his pro-scouting mavens were able to unearth repeatedly, while up against the cap for 3 years stalled out by the pandemic. Saw Team Canada at the Worlds 2 years back & was impressed by Bunting, who went net-front & pissed off their opponents to distraction. No points, but a fearless grit-grinder. Thought he could be a 4th line 20 pt guy. He certainly showed Ritchie how you have to play with elite guys like Matthews, Marner et al. Toronto seemed to be able to figure out who was no longer wanted by their club, not qualified, or otherwise overlooked & by waiting well into free agency, got them at favourable numbers.

That off-season Bunting @ 950K x 2, Kase 1.25M x 1 & Kampf 1.5M x 2 were all low cost, high value signings. Ritchie was a swing & a miss, but Dubas dealt him fairly quickly + the entirety of his contract & got Lybushkin back to boot. Can Bunting produce 20+ goals & 60 pts without being on a line with a Matthews, Marner or Nylander? I doubt it, but some team in a 'weak' UFA class will overpay him, however it will likely not be the Leafs.

  14. For the idiots to defend Dubas at least marner Nylander Tavares got their money. That’s so much more than us winning a cup

  15. 100% agreed. I don't even think there's any "but"s for me on this one. Toronto had a bit of teeth which they desperately needed as they usually don't have it when a teammate gets plowed over. Like it or not bunting did it.

  16. Bunting is not an asset….weird guy with misplaced emotions. Hurts the team with his attitude. Probably can't handle the zips…

  17. How about we keep bunting and release one of the core four
And shore up the second line with another bunting type?
    How about that?

  18. I have a solution for the leafs go out and get Tom Wilson for team toughness and I will bet u no one will touch Matthews or nylander or marner taveras mark my words and Wilson go score has well

  19. He wouldn't shut up and the refs wouldn't give theteam a call at the end of it wishhe would let his play do his talking

  20. They'd lose a player who gets in on the forecheck, loosens pucks, drives the net, takes abuse net front, backchecks his butt off, is a plus 47 in 187 NHL games…and bleeds blue and white. But Toronto doesn't need gritty players who play with heart, right?… right?
