I’m on the Arizona side
Chicago gets 2 players that's why Chicago wins
I was # 600
Look at Domi, I bet Strome can do better in another organization. Also Schmaltz is an awful center, he’s under 40% at the dot
As a Hawks fan I totally agree…. It's going to take some time to figure out who won this trade because Strome has really shown his potential thus far with the Hawks and Perlini has plenty of potential in his own right ……. I was shocked that Bowman traded Schmaltz because he is indeed the best player in this deal, but at the same time the Hawks got 2 players with MASSIVE upside…… And I'm a Schmaltz fan and I wish him nothing but the best, but reuniting Strome with DeBrincat seems to be a genius move by Bowman so…. And I think reuniting Strome with DeBrincat will really help him both mentally and his game – and of course the Hawks do still have a TON of talent on top of that so….. It's a very interesting deal and in 10 years these deals could turn out to be steals for both teams – this trade could certainly be considered a blockbuster 10 years from now if all 3 players reach their potential and if that happens I think the Hawks will win because I think Strome has a higher upside than Schmaltz but he hasn't shown it yet…….
If it matters ALL players involved in this trade are helping their team….. Look at Strome – 6-7 points in like 10 games with the Hawks, Perlini hasn't been bad at all and Schmaltz is a PPG player….. But Strome impresses me as a Hawks fan – he has a fresh start and is taking advantage of it playing with his old Otters buddy DeBrincat – they have some real good chemistry and they're going to be fun to watch…. Strome is doing the same stuff he did In Erie… I mean obviously the is the NHL and he's not going to score at an OHL pace but he's playing like he did in Erie…… So far the trade is paying off for both teams…. Obviously Schmaltz is the more experienced NHL player but Strome looks to be picking up his pace and showing why he was a 3rd overall pick real quick here in Chicago…… I loved Schmaltz but I love this deal too for the Hawks…… I mean we can argue that Strome's upside is higher than Schmaltz, and the Hawks get Perlini?? …….. I think this is gong to be one of those deals where you give the edge to the Hawks BUT it will work out for both teams and both teams will be better because of it……… And you know, you don't see deals like this everyday 3 young first round picks under 23 with tons of potential traded for each other? unheard of….. I mean I bet Bowman could have got Nylander easily for Schmaltz straight up – but analyze the salary side of a trade like that? you see…… Neither Strome or Perlini will be making a Schmaltz contract anytime soon…. Schmaltz will get 5-6 per while Strome or Perlini will get maybe 2 per on their next contract, and then they can break out and be bargains…… So yea, despite being a Schmaltz fan and a die hard Hawks fan I really like this deal – especially from a financial perspective…….. For numerous reasons because I believe Panarin will resign in Chicago on July 1st ….. Bring that dude back and the Hawks are back into contention, however that is a different argument, lol…..
