How can the league allow teams to have such a BIG advantage like "no state tax" they put a salary cap in to stop the Canadian teams from outspending the many of the U.S teams, and yet they allow this?? The teams with this advantage should have a lower cap to makeup the difference! Gerry Bettmen has been the director of the league since 1993, GUESS what year was the last year a Canadian team won the cup????? Yeah 1993!!! He's made SURE the Canadian team don't win!!
He screwed the Caps out of Forsberg to save his job and didn't even make the playoffs that year. Later the Caps beat his team and win the cup. Imagine a team with Backstrom, Ovi, and Forseberg…could have won more cups?….tons of integrity there…
Many hockey, like baseball players, are rednecks (see the Staal Brothers, Bobby Orr and Theo Fleury for but a few examples), so are likely okay going to s-holes like Texas and Florida. So, they would probably rather be with their own kind.
