HELL YEAH
First flames game I went to as a kid Iginla scored… first year (or two roughly) getting back into hockey this is what happens. Absolutely epic
Phil Kessel is a professional ice hockey player from the United States who has played in the National Hockey League (NHL) for over a decade. He was born on October 2, 1987, in Madison, Wisconsin, and began playing ice hockey at a young age. Kessel's talent on the ice was immediately apparent, and he quickly rose through the ranks of youth hockey to become one of the most promising players in the country.
Kessel's professional career began when he was drafted by the Boston Bruins in the first round of the 2006 NHL Entry Draft. He spent three seasons with the Bruins, during which he established himself as an elite scorer and one of the most dynamic players in the league. In 2009, Kessel was traded to the Toronto Maple Leafs, where he continued to put up impressive numbers and earn accolades for his performance on the ice.
Throughout his career, Kessel has been known for his incredible speed, agility, and scoring ability. He has been named to the NHL All-Star Game multiple times and has won numerous awards for his performance, including the Bill Masterton Memorial Trophy and the NHL Foundation Player Award. Kessel has also been a key player on several successful teams, including the 2016 and 2017 Stanley Cup Champion Pittsburgh Penguins.
While Phil Kessel is undoubtedly a talented player and a valuable asset to any team, it is difficult to say definitively that he is the best player in NHL history. Hockey is a team sport, and individual success is often tied to the success of the team as a whole. There have been many other great players in NHL history who have contributed to their teams in significant ways and achieved remarkable feats on the ice.
Ultimately, the question of who is the best player in NHL history is a matter of personal opinion and subjective criteria. While Phil Kessel's talent and achievements on the ice are certainly impressive, it is up to each individual fan to decide for themselves who they believe deserves the title of the greatest player of all time.
Iggy is a throwback to all the important values that make a winner. The man is a full blown example of how to conduct yourself in daily life. He is someone to look up to if your a youngster looking for what a real winner looks like in not just hockey but life in general. Just one more reason for my beloved Canucks to be worried about the Flames. I'd love to see that rivalry come back. It was something during the 90's. God I hate the flames and the Oil. Nice move today though. Bastards.
Good for the flames!!!
calgary obviously didnt see the old boys club debacle enjoy
Worked well when Edmonton brought in the Old boys!
Iggy was always one of my favorite players, this is huge for the Flames. I hope the Sens announce somthing similar with Alfredsson joining the front office this season
Seeing Iginla win the Cup as a staff member after never winning it as a player would be the ultimate justice for him.
Great guy. Has the strangest looking head. Haha
Loved watching Iggy play, he's the exact type of player I think epitomizes a great hockey player. A leader, a goal scorer, a fighter, and a great all-around person. As a Sens fan, I can only hope that Brady can have a similar career. Cheers
Back to the Captain Conroy, Assistant Captain Jarome days (i know it's technically alternate captain)
Best Iggy Moment? Setting up a hard working Defenceman for an OT winner!

I remember hearing about this announcement yesterday and jumping for joy
I think the 2023-24 season is going to be one where we see the Flames make it to at least the conference finals
and be top 3 in the standings
I'm so excited about this
He's assistant TO the regional manager. 😂
As a Flames fan I wasn't heartbroken when Jarome was traded. My thinking was that it should have happened way before then. Like when (if the stories at the time were true) the LA Kings offered the same deal for Iginla that they later gave to Philadelphia for Mike Richards. Wayne Simmonds & Brayden Shenn could have helped the floundering Flames a lot more than an already declining Iginla, and Iginla would have won his two Stanley Cups. It would have been best for everyone involved. We all loved Jarome, but, come on. Be serious. Be realistic.
What in the Kevin Weekes head?
Our Angel is Home
We'll see how it plays out, its a flip of a coin if former players make good staff behind the scenes. I wish all the best to calgary from edmonton I love iginla too.
I’m 300 kms north of Cowtown but this gets me pumped for the Flames. Wish them nothing but luck for the foreseeable future. Alberta 💪🏼
Edmonton's darkest years were when the whole staff was former Oilers players. Be careful
My favorite Jarome Iginla memory? Is when the Stars traded him for Joe Nieuwendyk. 👍🏻
THE SEATTLE TRADE WAS A L WE COULD DO BETTER IT WAS A L L TRADE (watch this be a great trade) fyi this is a joke cuz Iggy is a great dude and ill miss him but when him and Ty come on down to the Sho I gotta say hi, my fave iggy moment is when lovsin and him where debating if lovsin got a goal that was great. For context the tbirds do a skate with the players for the season tickets and it all went down there it was great also shout outs to my elite boy Crank! He got a hatty in the Mcup if I remember correctly! anyways have a great day I know too many people who have played in KEL and bye!
I dont gaf which canadian team gets good . But Canada needs a cup. FUCK the states . seriously
Without a doubt, The Shift! Will never again be replicated in the NHL.
The heartbreak in '04. I'll just remember Iginla playing like a man possessed, trying to win that game. He gave it his all and then 100% more. I've never seen a player play with the intensity and heart that Iginla did on that night.
You had to have been here for the 04 run. Wow.
I loved Iggy, but having great players in management/coaching is not always the same as having them on the ice. Yeah, Yzerman's doing great. Mario as owner did good. But take a look at how Gretzky did at coaching….not that great
Not great. Just ask oilers fans how hiring a bunch of younger EX players in management. Decade of dispare
You and me both brother 😀
Looks like someone didn't manage their millions properly
JAROME BACK IN THE DOME 🔥
When I was 10 I got a chance to meet both conroy when he came back to the flames during the cup run and iggy after a game and got them to sign my jersey and hat. A day I will never forget, I am so happy they are both back and are in a way, sharing the drivers seat!
Why did he take so long?
Sakic started as a special advisor as well. Worked out pretty well for the Avs 😉
How did I know you were going to love this news, JH? But I just knew! I think a lot of people have no idea just how popular Iggy still is in Calgary (I'm not from there, but a buddy of mine is.). I'm sure that if it were up to the people of Calgary to choose the next Pope, we'd see white smoke coming out of the top of the Saddle-Dome, and the next Pope would be Iggy the First!
Iggy and Jumbo Joe- the 2 most heartbreaking non-Cup winners of my time watching hockey (since 1992)
He’s trading for Kadri
Jarome Iginla and Mark Giordano are beloved household names in Calgary. They have done so much for the city, just ask a Calgarian
