  1. The Red Wings are also probably looking to move up from #9 & #17. But like Montreal, it is probably not going to happen. 😀

  2. The Red Wings might give up 2 second round picks for Montreal's #31 pick. That is moving up & down, for either team.

  3. The first 4 teams in the draft would be stupid to trade their choices. I don't think Montreal has enough good upcoming players to leverage this trade.

  4. I wouldn't like to trade Dach away. Would I like to see Slafkovski to be traded ? Not really. The idea of trading both 5th and 31st, adding a prospect like Owen Beck, or a young defensemen like Jordan Harris (Habs already have great defensemen knocking at the door), that would be something I would look into, but more than that, I would keep my 5th pick.
In the other hand, if I was the Ducks, would I trade my 2nd pick ? Hell no, Fantilli could be a franchise type of player, you don't want to lose him.

Now, as for the 4th round pick, if I was Briere, certainly I would ask a lot for my 4th pick, knowing Smith would be targeted by Montreal. Even if I had planned to take a guy like Mitchkov, because I know I'll not be ready to be contender until the next 3 or 4 years, I would let everyone knows that I aim for Smith so if Habs wants him, they'll pay for it. I would probably ask what I would have offered to Anaheim, so both of the 1st round pick + a promising prospect for the 4th overall pick. Again, I wouldn't do it as a Hab.

I think Mitchkov is the right pick at 5th place, if he is available of course, he might be. If they clearly don't want to deal with the russian guy, then a Leonard or Benson would be my choice.

  5. This is the Bergevin special, make a point of trying to do something that was never going to work out anyway, just for the sake of looking like you're doing something.

  6. As a Ducks fan if Montreal is that desperate to move up they have to give up something high value I mean your asking to move up 3 spots Anaheim has the leverage here.

  7. Mitchkov is the only reason a team would trade down (if that team see him as the no 2, they could trade down knowing he will be available at 5) .

  8. Montreal is staying at #5 and will mess it up by not picking Michkov if he's still available.

  9. MTL is crazy for trying to move up from a 5th overall pick in a stacked draft.

They shouldn’t worry about SJ picking their guy at #4. SJ is going to go off the board with the new guys they have running the draft. 😅

  10. Okay if habs trade Slaf and draft michkov they would laugh, montreal would be stupid to go for it,if they want 2nd they should package Hutson 5th pick, mesar and maybe Edmundson or Anderson if habs trade Slafkovsky it would be such a mistake

  11. dach wih 14 goals and Slafkovsk who may never make it in a deal for a guy capable of being a franchise player, keep dreaming..

  12. Pick 3(carlsson) and maybe try to get ceulemans for Anderson mesar/beck 5 pick and next year 2 round (col)

  13. First Line potentially dominating centers are rare, Ducks keep the pick.

  14. Dach and the 5th overall isn't going to do it for either the 2nd or even 3rd overall pick. The price in this years draft is too high. The ask would be Suzuki and the 5th overall for either 2nd or 3rd overall. Habs are better off staying at 5th.

  15. Omfg why dont they just pick Smith or Michkov at 5th Overall. All these trade speculations on giving up valuable young talent just to move up 1 or 3 spots isn't worth it.

  16. If you got up to #2. U still have a chance at bedard. But not very likely

  17. If i was Anaheim, it would be Suzuki and 5th pick, nothing less. That and a good vet to lead the kids. Dach and Flav are WAY too uncertain values.

  18. I don't even know why thete are talks about moving to 4th… It wouldn't change anything since they don't want Mitchkov. So why the hell would they give something away to get the same guy?
