I really started to like JVR this year, but why does he wear a mouth guard if it's not in his mouth on his teeth ? He gets hit and he is still chewing it that so bizzare, and his helmet is even knocked loose. I'm not a pro obviously but a proper fitting helmet and chin strap isn't hard to find. This kind of bad equipment management makes me angry because then this guy get injured, and the leafs need him .
The most impressive thing about this is that Gardiner says "hey WTF?" but then continues to play. I get so annoyed by players retaliating after clean hits.
Granted, it might have been more like he just noticed how damn big Manson is and decided not to get his ass kicked lol. I prefer the more optimistic take.
