Vancouver Canucks top prospect and draft pick Vasili Podkolzin was last night’s Player of the Game in Team Russia’s 7-1 victory over Team Austria at the 2021 World Juniors.
He had two goals and an assist all in about ten minutes, upping his total production at the WJC as a whole to a point-per-game rate.
Vasili Podkolzin was one of the top NHL prospects at the 2019 NHL Entry Draft.

Pretty sure no canucks were disappointed with the pick, he was consistently mock drafted at 3rd overall through the year and just dropped due to the Russian factor. He had 2 years on his khl contract but few prospects take less than 2 years to become nhl ready. He’ll provide great value on his rookie deal while we wait for contracts to expire and need to resign hughes and petey. Nevertheless can’t wait to see him in a nucks uniform.
