We're going to find out pretty soon whether "pond hockey" or shut-down defense will prevail in the playoffs. The Rangers aren't overwhelming anyone offensively. They're bucking the season trend towards high-flying offense. Teams like the Panthers, AVs, Leafs, Wild and others have to wonder whether they can score enough goals to cancel out loose defense or shaky goaltending. The Rangers just have to find ways to score a few. On paper, they have more than enough offensive talent. They've got three of the best playmakers in the NHL in Panarin, Fox and Zibanejad. They've got the best net-front scorer in the NHL and they've added some scoring depth to the line-up at the trade deadline.
