    Subban has 4 slewfoots this season already. Why hasn't he been suspended? The fine is laughable and has only told Subban he can keep getting away with it.

    Tried and couldn't get an NHL job for a couple years now,.. retires.
    Another in the group of, fast-rise-to-stardom-players – who then quickly fell off, and very much disappointed. That's the real story of Dion Phaneuf.

    As frustrating as it was to watch Phaneuf at times, I still consider him one of the all-time best hitters in the league. The man could lay a clean check like nobody's business

    dion's rookie year was 05-06 .he scored 20 goals but had the misfortune of having his rookie year stacked against sid and ovi, who both hit 100 points.

    Phaneuf should've retired when he was on the Leafs. He had one or two good seasons with the Flames, but was generally awful for the rest.

    That so weird hearing that Phaneuf has retired. I remember the Junior worlds were he came onto the national stage just running over everybody and sending Ovechkin to the locker room to pout. Good thing for Ovechkin in that it woke him up and he developed into a physical force in the NHL.

    I sort of find the words "Accountability" and "Vancouver" mutually exclusive. Benning has shown time and again that he will sacrifice the future for stop-gap measures now, the vast majority of which have blown up in his face. I love OEL and Garland, I honestly think that its one of the better trades hes made just really poorly timed. But that doesnt excuse the fact that the team looks worse now than they have at any point during his tenure, and thats a really low bar to clear Jim

    Dion Phaneuf best seasons we're his first three with the Calgary Flames. Made a bad trade with the Toronto Maple Leafs.

    I will forever die on the hill that Phaneuf would've still been amazing had he stayed in Calgary. The Leafs wanted him to be a #1 workhorse D which he absolutely was not, his success came from being used selectively as an offensive wildcard, not playing 30 minutes a night against top lines

    Phaneuf was an absolute beast for his first 4-5 seasons, and then just fell off.

    Thats where Baertschi ended up!
    I remember his days in Calgary. I had hoped when he went to Van, that his game would pick up.
    Phaneuf, another Flames 1st round pick.
