What was the point?
If he would have hustled a bit more, he might have actually caught it.
I love how for a moment he was playing alongโฆthen reality came crashing down and he looked totally not stoked๐
He really didn't do anything to show whether he caught the ball or not. His lack of reaction shouldn't be considered a fake out.
๐ The longer he went without revealing his glove, the more he was like "oh man, this is going to be awkward".
If there was two outs I wonder how far he could make it.
His teammates were yelling go back stay on the field…they knew the outfielder didn't have the ball.
Lousy sportsmanship, at a minimum.
I've always thought it was odd that holding up a closed glove = the ball is in the glove.
Hopefully the umpires didn't call it out because a catch isn't a catch until you intentionally remove it from your glove.
That was stupid.
Jomboy where u @๐๐๐๐๐๐
That needs an ejection!
What was the point. Heโs a future democratic congressman
I can guarantee you his coach was pissed
Did the announcer burp?? ๐
Lol if he did that in the MLB he'd get benched.
Bush league.
Wait wait wait…….the runner ran back to the dugout, he was out of the baseline…..he should be out!!!
Nothing better than a open glove ๐ ๐
Dang, ball did go into his glove but if you slow down the video you see it pop right out as he turns to try and bring the ball back into the field
Epic
Paging @CloseCallSports
If that was the 3rd out, he prolly woulda gotten away with it. ๐
Weird thing to "fake" people out on…
What was the point?
Surprised the ump didn't throw him out of the game!
Might have worked if there were 2 outs, just run into the dugout.
If there were 2 outs i wonder if this could've worked
Imagine if this was three outs and he just ran into the dugout, โoh yeah hereโs the ballโ and grabs one from inside
Good umpiring right there. "Show me the ball."
If runner left the basepath would he have been out?
What was the final score in this game?
Oohhh that's cruel. And funny
Probably good that it was the bottom of the 7th. I imagine the opposing pitcher might go just a bit inside on the first pitch.
