This was great and an hour too. Good job gentleman.
Have the utmost respect and admiration for Chris Nilan. Old school, no fool.
Thanks for answering Knuckles! Yes, the Chicago Behn Wilson fight is available on video. Its the preseason tilts vs Wilson as a Flyer that are not, which were the one's I was asking about. I did see the Last Gladiator, but will review if you say there is footage of either of those Flyer fights in that documentary. Love the podcast! Keep it up boys!
I have watched the brawl in the hall in Boston from 1986 several times and wish you would have hit that Rat harder! have two questions, after you swung at him did one of those policeman punch you in the face? It looks like your head snaps back. Also, what occurred beneath the stands in between locker rooms during the brawl?
I am not kidding – Stapes is the funniest guy not trying hard to be funny. I love how he can give the non expected answers and follow ups.
Great pod!!
Who was the best referee/linesman who allowed you to do your job as an enforcer and who was the worst (not named Kevin Collins)?
Knucks, in your opinion/experience in the NHL, who had the hardest punch? I heard Dave Brown's left hand was like being hit with a cinder block? Thoughts?
@39:00 Nilan claustrophobic ??? Dude you spent 50 hours in a penalty box?
Great Show guys
😊
Byfuglien would be a great guest. He has some of the best YouTube videos.
Tim, you are freakin funny. Quick thinking… love the balance between you and knucks
What Chris said at 27:45. No Michkov.
NILAN #30 ❤ GO HABS GO
Chris, your stories show your character. The O'Reilly story is great insight to how it really is.
Knuckles, in you're opinion how tough was John Kordic as a teammate ?
What??? Florida in 6???….. Geez Knucks, don't you know anything about hockey???.. 😂
Eyyyyyy
Stappppples
And Knuckssss
LOVE IT!!! No filters with these guys!!! They tell it like it is.
I live in the central time zone and my kids go to school in the Eastern time zone. I'm always asking what time it is. That was fucking great
In that second O'Reilly fight the linesman grabbed O'Reilly just before Nilan threw the punch.
Knuckles throwing the sticks, made me think someone probably asked him to use IPads lol
Chris, I recall reading something in the Hockey News in the mid-80''s. During a game between Canadiens and Whalers, Torrie Robertson broke his leg while scuffling with Shayne Corson. According to Hockey News, you went to visit Torrie in the hospital and brought him flowers. Is that true?
I've seen the the Chicago fight with Big Behn. A win for Wilson, imo. According to the Montreal Gazette, the Montreal bouts between Wilson and Knucks saw Wilson win one and the other one was a draw.
When I think of the Montreal Canadians I think of players who could skate. In Ken Drydens rookie year the Canadans beat the Black Hawks in the final on the strength of Drydens astonishing play. What I remember from that final was Rejean Houle checking Bobby Hull and pretty much shutting him down. Houle was one of the few players in the league whocould stay with Hull.
Who do you remember as the best skaters from your time in Montreal?
