Jesper Wallstedt is to Swedish goaltending prospects what Yaroslav Askarov is to Russian goaltending prospects: up and away the best the nation has ever seen. Where Yaroslav Askarov was touted by many as the best goaltending prospect since Carey Price, a prospect with franchise potential, Jesper Wallstedt is exactly that but for Sweden instead.

Poised to being drafted at the 2021 NHL Entry Draft, Jesper Wallstedt is the best goaltending prospect of the class, and a guy who’s already playing full time in the SHL for the Lulea HF. He’s only 17, but he’s doing incredibly well.

  1. Gio, it's never too early to talk about next year's draft!! I was wondering if there's any rankings yet for next season, if there are then this kid has to be top 5 or even top 3. Those numbers and his development are jaw dropping. I really hope that Detroit makes a move for him, I know we've got a lot of goalie prospects but this is a kid who could go straight into an NHL back up role. We should be in a good position to at least have a shot at him and finally not get shafted by the bloody lottery…….

  2. oo i'll have an eye on him dude your scouting is insane the only other prospects i knew other than already drafted ones than : luke hughes, bedard , antu raty and like matvei mishkov so prop's to you

  3. Im Happy, if Detroit gets Wallstedt or top d-man (Power, Clarke, Lambos or Hughes) in next years draft!

  4. He’s better than Askarov in my opinion. because Jesper is teending in a SHL as a U18 and Askarov did in the VHL as U18 which is alot worse than the SHL

  5. Imagine if the Canes get payback for being two picks behind Askarov and snagging this guy next year

  6. The Wings will get top 5 draft position again and they will draft him. They need a goalie BADDDDD. Get a franchise goalie and get lucky, draft Shane Wright in 2022. Rebuild is done, and watch out!
