Is the reason Dubas was let go because he said they were open for trading a core player, not that he said he wasn't sure he wanted to the GM?
Hey Steve! You are no longer the village idiot! Time to pass on the torch bud! 🤣😂🤣
How many times do you try the same thing over and over again when it doesn't work?
first thing the Leafs must do is FIRE Sheldon…. The fact this has not been done is astounding??? The second thing is go hire Former Coach of the Year Patrick Roy to shake up Moribund Entitled Core 4. Send a message… THERE BE A NEW SHERIFF in town who knows how it is done…. Wake Up Les Boys!!!
Such a simple answer. Have the core four won the cup in 7 years? No! Retain core 4? NO!
I really think the conversation about the core 4 is ridiculous! Talk about each individual for what they are and have done during their stay in Toronto during both regular season and the playoffs and (like teams usually do) and if one of them is lacking then get rid of that individual. Having to break up the core of a team for the sake of it is dumb, dumber and also… like… really dumb!
The core four doesn't have "the right stuff" because they have failed multiple times to advance to the Cup final. I don't see how Leaf fans can even stand looking at what Vegas has accomplished or even Seattle.
Is there no way it can be Taveres that goes?
I think if Sheldon was going to be fired he would have been by now.
Maybe they can convince Tavares to retire, then move upstairs to assist Shanahan ?
Adam is right = the Leafs will run it back again this year and look for the salary cap increase next year to provide some cap space.
What he is not contemplating is Matthews, Marner and Nylander will have salary raises that eat up all the cap increase.
Can somebody explain to me why its "core 4" and why Nylander is included in that 4 and not Reilly?
The art of f<>in it up don't were you all, power of control will 80% of the time.
Now that Shane Doan is working with Treviling there's a possibility that Auston Mathews get signed again and only Shanahan will give the green light to move one of the four core I really hope they improve the Toronto Maple Leafs to further into the playoffs
At the end of playoffs most fans wanted change…I want new coach like Patrick Roy
Nylander is better value than Marner in the playoffs and seems to handle the pressure better. But Marner has higher up-side and is a regular season monster.
It's funny to watch the transition every year from fire everyone to yeah let's just run it back.
Patrick Roy would be so interesting
I feel like you guys are missing the point of what they are saying. Clearly the cap money and star power draws attention.
They just are tired of this stupid nickname and forced attention on just them. It’s just annoying at this point to be singled out when there is clearly bigger reasons why they haven’t performed. They don’t have the best defense or goaltending in the league, and if you want to blame the “core 4” cap hit for that then go ahead but that on the GM not them. If they are willing to run it back again you can’t blame the players, this is on management.
