This would have been done awhile back, but the deadline left me with little time to cover this stuff.

  1. I really found it amusing how anyone thought Kopitar was done after last season. In terms of the average hockey player, Kopitar still had a good season, but it was not a good season at all by his standards. His goal scoring no doubt was the biggest issue, but he also did look slower and more fragile. He was playing with a lingering injury though for a good portion of the season. I had no doubt in my mind that Kopitar would rebound the way he has this season. He's seriously got to be one of the most criminally underrated players in the league. Guy practically averages 70 points per season, plays all situations, is good on faceoffs, defensively sound and doesn't take a lot of penalties. He is no doubt, one of the best players in the league today.

  2. LA gets Quick and Kopitar in the same draft; not bad. Also, Price, Rask, Quick, and Bishop in one draft class. Quite a year for goaler drafting.

It's pretty amazing how Kopitar has single handedly put a whole country on the hockey map. He's the ideal centerman and seems like a really genuine gentleman. He would probably get legend status in a conventional hockey market.

  3. One of those most underrated players in the world for the past decade. Puts up 70 points a year with outstanding 2 way responsibility while making everyone on his line better, yet somehow only has one Selky Trophy because the NHL got too fixated on Bergeron and Datsyuk. Sadly, Bergeron will win it again this year.

  4. This is the player I hope Draisaitl can mirror. Although hes a division rival Kopitar has been one of my favourite player for a while. HoF worthy IMO

  5. Kopitar and Vilardi both dropped in NHL draft picked because of skating, both were #11 pick, close to an 11 year difference in years(draft year)….. Another kopi in the making

  6. What do you mean "and if he was allowed I'm sure Slovenia would've been in these Olympics too?". Slovenia WAS in these Olympics and even beat Team USA.

  7. I wish that everyone that subscribes to this channel would remember that this man is human just like the rest of us. We all make mistakes, typos, get facts and stats wrong occasionally. I don't understand why everyone wants to play the gotcha game. Instead of accusing him of missing this player or that play, could you politely ask him if he could do a video instead of finding fault. It seems like some people just want to be mean or rude for fun. Would you say or act that way to your mother or someone you respect?
Shannon tries his best to put out videos that inform and entertain without disrespecting anyone. This channel's community is mostly positive and fun, but a few people that seem to always post negative things not about rival teams or your own team, lol but personal digs make THG wonder if it's worth it to continue to make videos with more content than anyone else that I have watched.
I for one am excited to finally get hockey content that isn't a joke from a local news station about a hockey fight. They don't understand the hockey culture and certainly don't treat the sport with the respect that baseball, football or basketball get. If you love this sport then support independent sources that try to do what the Nhl has failed to do, educate new and old fans about this wonderful sport we love. Your negativity hurts that mission and frankly turns people away. If I have offended you, well maybe now you can feel what Shannon and Yvonne must feel daily at the nasty attitudes that you show to a virtual stranger.

  8. It seems like a lot of players had bad years last year and a lot of those guys are turning it around this year.

  9. Slovenia were in the olympic games this year and without him obviously!! They even defeated USA in the first round

  10. At the 2005 draft Kopitar was supposed to go at no 6 to Columbus. Instead Kopitar Columbus took Gilbert Brulee … "Columbus is in the middle of nowhere, but for us in Slovenia it was wow. And they pass. Than came Dave (Taylor, GM of Kings), and he took him at no 11." Matjaž Kopitar in an interview for Slovenian edition of Playboy magazine.

  11. Don't worry about landing on exact milestones, Shannon. Think Simpsons 138th Episode Spectacular and have fun with numbers. You have great energy in this and the Nash video. On my way to the Malkin one now.

  12. What do you think the odds are of him winning the Selke or Hart? Keep in mind the King with the second most points is Dustin Brown at 44.

  13. You know you are a hidden gem and was overlooked because of fear of the unknown. Asked Chris Pronger on Kopi's first NHL Goal😂. He overpowered Pronger😂 Since then Brian Hayward has had a distant admiration of Kopi! The memorable highlight goal is against the Blues – Game # 2 Killing Penalty 2011- 2012. Wow!
