Cool story I have about Otter I thought would be cool to share:
I used to live in MN for about 6-7 years, throughout middle school and high school. My high school had a very competitive hockey team and made it to the state championship 3/3 years I was there. One year, we made it to the semi final and we were set to play Lakeville South, I didn’t know much about them but I do remember the hype around their goalie was massive. At the time we had the #1 recruit In the nation (Casey Middlestadt, he was drafted by the Sabres in the 2017 class, along with Miro and Makar) but all the hype was around the Lakeville net minder.
Turns out their goalie was Jake Oettinger, and he played like he did in game 7 against Calgary. Took us somewhere between 63-66 shots to beat that guy. He was robbing us. He was the most hated and loved guy in the building at the same time. We did eventually score, and ended up winning the game in OT. A few months later he got drafted by the Stars, and the rest is history.
