Cole Caufield is EXTREMELY UNDERRATED

Cole Caufield has signed a new 8 year contract that has made him the Montreal Canadiens franchise player. This is an amazing contract for the Montréal Canadiens. Caufield is one of the most underrated players in the NHL. Caufield became one of the best goal scores in the NHL when Martin St. Louis became the coach last season. He was able to bring that momentum into this season by scoring 26 goals in 46 games. He was on pace to score 46 goals in 82 goals if he was healthy. I can’t wait to see what Caufield does next season.

  1. I feel like he is both over and underrated at the same time.

Some of the extreme Montreal fans think he has 65+ goal potential and scream it from the rooftop. They can be pretty annoying, even to other Montreal fans.

Others hate on him and generally be a dick when he comes up because they don’t like Montreal fans being happy (which is kind of sad, but it’s not my business.)

  2. My favourite quality about him is his ability to just disappear from the defensemens radar, only to pop up in the perfect spot for an opportunity. It’s magic to watch.

  3. You're so right, the contract he signed is like a complete steal in my opinion, I almost feel bad for him, he's going to be our superstar for the next decade. This last season people were watching the habs mainly just to see him and when he got injured I recall that so many people, including me, saying: damn I was watching the habs just to see him play. That says a lot…

  6. The Habs are rebuilding but the future is getting brighter with some players who will surprise our competitors. Cole is one of those players.

  7. Love Caufield but sorry, Suzuki is Montréal's franchise player. Cole is a pure sniper who has a great shot but he is weak defensively. Suzuki on the other hand, does everything well. Nick plays on PP, on PK and 5 v 5. Slick Nick is also a magician in the shootout, and is a natural born leader which is why the rest of the team looks up to him Habs understand this and that is why he is the Captain and highest paid player. Caufield is great but Suzuki is the man. He is always leading the team in points and makes wveryone around him better Try again

  8. I'm honestly very excited for next season!

Not only do the Canadiens have the 5th pick overall, but I sincerely believe that this offseason will be one, if not the most important in Montréal's rebuilding. I'm eager to see Kent Hughes' moves to improve the team. I don't necessarily expect a playoff spot, but the 2023-2024 season is going to be exciting to watch, especially if we're competitive enough to be able to fight for a wildcard spot.

  9. As soon as he jump on the ice, I’ve got that adrenaline bump. Now, I'm so excited for next season.

  10. This is not what underrated means, but yeah, the kid is not just a sniper. Highly intelligent and skilled player for sure! The quickness of his feet always baffles me. Quick hands as well, but he often loses the puck; he’s young though, he’ll get better at everything he’s already good at.
