Having watched plenty of college and junior hockey this year, plus the IIHF Worlds, Fantilli is my pick.
Fantilli’s powerful Eichel-like stride makes him a much better skater then Carlsson. His acceleration is awesome; I love how quickly Fantilli can close the gap and challenge a puck carrier, which should lead to increased turnovers and mistakes. Also, Fantilli’s play style is complementary to Zegras and he hits like a Canadian, which seems to be a swiftly dying art among Swedes.
As for Michkov, whenever I hear his name mentioned I always think, “Can I interest you in a Stanislov Chistov?” :p

I think Carlssons just going to better on both ends of the ice. Fantilli might be a better skater, but Carlsson just sees the game better and has better hands
It’s Fantilli or Carlsson. I’d prefer Fantilli which would tick every box of Ducks needs: size, goal scoring, physical, fast, hobey baker winner.
Don’t really understand the debate. He’s the best after Bedard. Then it’s really up to us in developing him

chicago obviously is going to take the offensive genius, prodigy Bedard but most GMs (verbeek included), coaches will often talk about the compete, motor found in prospect in addition to the skills, physical traits.
SlavaQuoka is all over the hockey subreddit pumping the Carlsson over Fantilli hype and making claims like Fantilli won’t be a center in the NHL.

It has to be Fantilli. This is the guy we’ve sorely needed over the years; a two-way power forward with great skating that loves taking shots. This is the guy. I love Carlsson’s potential and he reminds me of Getzlaf. But we have an incredible playmaker in Zegras to feed goal scorers. We need to go for someone that can pot us 40-50 goals
Gotta be fantilli
It got posted in here after the draft of point comparisons and Bedard was #2 in points comparison only behind McDavid and Fantilli was among the likes of Jack Hughes, who’s one of the best players in the league at 22 (I’m also biased as a Devils fan first, ducks fan 2nd).
I’m excited with whoever ends up on the Ducks, but I can’t say I wouldn’t be a little shocked if we took anybody but Fantilli at #2.
