I wonder what your definition of a malicious action is ; he BLATANTLY TARGETED AN OPPONENT"S HEAD ( a malicious action ) ;therefor at least a minimum 10 game suspension
I probably wouldn't call this a "tough" suspension. You literally pointed out how he wasn't attempting to play the puck and instead pivoted his body and stuck the elbow out… I mean that seems pretty malicious to me, I see plenty of similar hits where the player takes the body without sticking that elbow out. If you are responsible for your stick you are damn well responsible for a wayward elbow.
