Lockhart is an undersized center that isn’t an elite offensive player. Maybe he transitions to wing and carves out a journeyman niche for himself. I don’t think the Canucks were ever going to sign him though, not enough promise there.

Dime a dozen prospect unfortunately. Didn’t blow the doors off enough in a season where he turned 20 to deserve a contract slot.

Undersized center that isn’t quite elite enough to warrant a contract, I guess. 79 points in 66 games isn’t terrible. I wonder where they soured on him. I don’t have the scouts they do. Do they think he can’t at the very least transition to the A? Even on the wing? Guess they’d rather not waste the contract slot on a guy we can easily find in free agency that’d come with less term. 3 year ELC for a guy not good enough for the A isn’t ideal. Wouldn’t be surprised if he goes back to the CHL as an overager if no one signs him.

I read somewhere recently that him and Costmar will not be extended
Yup, declined to sign him. He’s a free agent now.
As of June 1st, both Connor Lockhart (2021 6th round) and Arvid Costmar (2019 7th round) have not been signed and have become free agents
Seems like he doesnt have the chops or will to be a NHLer
Had an extremely disappointingly draft +1 year and hasn’t rebounded that much this year either.
Overall, just hasn’t developed enough to warrant a contract.
Yes. They just announced they won’t be signing him last week.
