Thomas Drance on best third line centre options for the Canucks, player moves and more
Thomas Drance from The Athletic joined the guys to chat about his recent article on possible third line centre options for the Canucks and Arturs Silovs performance at the World Championships.
+ in the new nhl a .900+ save percentage is considered good. he's a .905 ( a small sample size i know ) in the nhl with a shitty defensive core. c'mon, thomas!
So the obvious take is that someine within the organization develops into a 3rd line centre. But we all get it that the talent isn't there. But with the organization swimming in wingers, who already on the organizations roster as a winger might make the transition to Centre ? Is anyone able to ? It would solve a lot of troubles. Do we all agree Podkolzin "Must" make a significant leap this year or maybe its time to trade him we need more out of a 10th. As an aside once again the bad luck in the draft comes back to bite us again. Had we even just stayed put in the 2019 draft we'd have Trevor Zegras ( how did he drop to 9th anyway, he had so much hype with all those highlights before the draft? )
I think you guys are thinking two steps ahead comparing the canucks to contenders in the final. Step one make the playoffs. Step two win a round step 3 build a true "contender" years away
If the Vancouver Canucks don't make the playoffs this coming season, it will be an unmitigated disaster! Another lost season when management pushed all the chips into the center of the table. Oh well, we will see this together.
With the Canucks salary cap issues, they're going to have to sign Jim from Langley as their 3rd line centre, after scouting him at his rec league game.
The organization is doing everything they can to solve the 3rd C internally. I think it's Sasson's job to lose. He put up good NCAA numbers. Raty eventually but he's not ready. Maybe Aman takes another step in his development. They're confident I think. It's a way better option than going after a $4 mill aging 3rd line centre. Exhaust internal options before going out to add more cap.

Keep JT, dude is a great player and has heart. Sometime he can be a bit of a drama queen but he cares. That is something Vancouver lacks, heart.
I'm a fan too Thomas hahaha

Ducks have plenty of centers, make a trade…..

I wish Brandon Sutter was healthy enough to play, he was a very useful depth player.
I love this show π especially when drance is on
