The Calgary Flames were easily one of the most frustrating teams to be a fan of this year.

At 5v5 they were elite at controlling play and out-chancing their opposition (1st in total shots, 2nd in shot attempts). Their awful finishing rate (lowest shooting percentage in the league) paired with poor goaltending was their undoing this season.

This team has talent and there’s certainly reason to believe this year was an outlier and they’ll be back in the Stanley Cup Playoffs next season. Going 7-17 in OT/SO games and being unable to get a key save when needed (31st ranked save % 5v5) will likely get better just based on the law of averages.

Huberdeau should settle in and likely bounce back. As far as young talent coming in, I expect Wolf, Coronato and Pelletier all to get a good look on the NHL roster next year.

Darryl Sutter when he takes Ruzicka off the 1st line, and scratches him, and realizes that makes his point production slow down: 😦

    Thank god he’s gone now

Weegar was likely our best player the 2nd half of the year. Guys a stud.

Even with everything going on. I just want a coach that pushes hard in transition. We have such a good team for it.

Huberdeau and Lindholm having eerily similar stats
