Habs get destroyed 8-2 by the Minnesota Wild to finish road trip | Habs 2021-22 Season | Episode 41

The Montreal Canadiens played tonight in the Xcel Energy Center against the Minnesota Wild and would end up losing by a final score of 8-2 in embarrassing fashion. Mike Hoffman would open the scoring with a 1-0 Habs lead but goals from Jared Spurgeon and Marcus Foligno would make it 2-1 Wild into the 2nd period. Connor Dewar’s 1st career NHL goal, Nico Sturm 22 seconds later, and Mats Zuccarello-Aasen would make it 5-1 Wild into the 3rd and final period. Rem Pitlick would make it 5-2 early with a small chance of a comeback but goals from Mathew Boldy and former Hab Jordie Benn would make it 7-2 before Kevin Fiala would make it 8-2 Minnesota in the dying minutes to finish this game but not before Matt Dumba becomes a Dumbass in the dying seconds. With this loss the Montreal Canadiens are now 8-26-7 with 23 points in the Eastern Conference and currently dead last in the NHL.
