disagree with the connor garland example.. certainly being in a different environment and different line mates gives you additional data point to assess the guy.. is it like a game changing decision.. heck no.. but certainly.. you might notice different things.. as in Vancouver.. where he plays sometimes is due to circumstances such as cap.. system.. etc..

If you have a lousy defence you need a great goalie. If you have a great defence you can get away with an average goalie. For years the Canucks have had a crap defence so they need a great goalie. Improve the defence, or ensure you have a great goalie. If you have a lousy defence and an average goalie you are Chicago or Anaheim. If you have a good defence and a great goalie, you are the Panthers.
