I don’t want Orlov. Fuck him and his bigotry. I like Fowler though. But it’s also because I’m partially a Ducks fan as well
Would love Forbort or Grzelcky from Boston. Would be perfect 1 year fill-ins to see if Bean or Svozil can be the longer term guy at 2LD. Hanifin is the dream, especially if we can extend him, but will cost probs LAs first + prospect + Bemstrom/Foudy at the minimum. Hanifin would also need to want out of Calgary for them to ship him off in the off season. They could just ship him off at the deadline for a haul. Really do not want to sign someone in FA since it would be an overpay.
The reason I’d want a 1 year rental is because we are going to have to extend Kent + Marchenko + Cole + Chinny after this year (hopefully sign them to extensions over this off season) and we don’t know what the cap is going to look like going forward until we figure all those extensions out.
I wouldn’t hate us taking a run at Graves. I feel like he was a big part of what made the Devils defense successful but nobody really talked about him because Dougie got all the spotlight
I wonder if bringing Gavrikov back is an option if his negotiations with the Kings fall through. Jarmo wanted to sign him and Gavrikov was reportedly interested in staying but the two sides couldn’t agree to term. Hopefully Gavrikov isn’t *too* upset about being held out longer than expected
One UFA name I never see come up but am kind of interested in is Radko Gudas, he’s an absolute house of a man and blocks shots like a champ. Is there downside to him that I’m not seeing? I think he could go for a 2-3×2.5m deal as well
