  1. mark bergevin is a miss udnerstoud genius…and the current reason for the habs core….im biased fan of his and blame his firing on trevor timmins

  2. As Leaf’s GM, Brad Treliving may ship Austin Matthews off to Florida so he can join Matthew Tkachuk. ✔️

  3. Best option. Jim Benning. Book it. He’s competed in the division and has gone on to win the cup. He’s your only hope, leaf’s fans. – lifelong Canucks fan.

  4. I mean on surface Wegar was supposed to be number 1 right handed d man. and huberdeau at times was a top 3 winger. So i don’t think that should determine if he doesn’t get hired.

  5. As a Flames fan I really liked Tre in Calgary. Obviously the Tkachuk move didn’t work as well as we’d hoped, but everyone was singing his praises last summer when it looked great. His biggest strength in my eyes is his patience, but it’s also his biggest weakness. He misses out on a lot because he’s not willing to take risks, but it also means the moves his does make usually end up being good ones. I think Calgary needed to move on from him, but I still think he can be a good GM given the right circumstances

  6. Unlike Dubas, Tre wasn't handed a plethora of top 5 picks in his rebuild little lone a #1 yet arguably Tre put together a team that has done more in the playoffs than the Leafs. Then there are the contracts that he has negotiated where there tends to be more value for $$.

As for the coaching choices Calgary's ownership group meddled a fair bit. Hartley, Sutter, were NOT Treliving's choices and the low salary's the club was willing to pay the others was a factor. PS Peters performance & tenure was plagued by scandal not brought on by Tre.

  7. It’s been Decades, since the Maple leafs have won a cup, there’s only one option it’s a general manager who did the unthinkable job of a taking a team with zero hope/chances of winning the Stanley Cup and then doing it twice. The leafs should hire Dean Lombardi!!!

  8. Quennville is the guy……so nice to see that Dubas was fired for not being able to do the job….FIRED GUYS …fired….not demoted or laid off….fired.

  9. If it were me, I'd go with Ryan Martin from NYR. Shanny had experiences with Martin when they were both with the Red Wings during the Cup run years.
BUT Shanny said he wanted an experienced GM.

  10. jim benning gm and willie desjardins for coach the leafs need a new direction which includes the possibility of going south in a hurry
